Five moon visitors; from December to April, Baja California Sur serves as a natural dwelling for thousands of gray whales.

Considered one of the oldest mammals on earth, the gray whale travels 8000 km (5000 mi) from Alaska and Liberia to Baja California Sur. It mates in Mexico's warm waters, giving birth a year later, which is why the gray whale is considered 100% Mexican. Come to La Paz and visit some of the lagoons where you can meet up close with these incredible creatures!

Baja California Sur's historical routes take you on a voyage through the history and culture of this state.

Just outside La Paz, you can visit picturesque villages such as Todos Santos and El Triunfo. During your tour, you will come across the historical chimneys, one of which was designed by Gustav Eiffel. Nearby you will also be able to visit the Cactus Sanctuary, a magnificent park with cactaceae found only in this region. Other tours include trips to imposing Jesuit missions and to the Sierra de San Francisco, where you can admire cave paintings dating from approximately 10,000 years ago.
